Natural landscapes: Rocky Mountain sunset

Yes, it was cold. Quite cold. But not so cold that, when I saw this stunning reflection in a quiet section of the Kootenay River, I couldn’t be persuaded to stop. A few minutes of careful walking on the snow brought me to the water’s edge, where I could set up the tripod in peace and fiddle around with a graduated density (darkening) filter on the top half of the scene until I had the picture I wanted. Pretty amazing, eh?  🙂 Nikon D7100, polarizing filter.
